17 people (1 from Tohoku University) related to PHRDP - III came to Japan from BAPPENAS (Program Sertifikasi Ahli Pengadaan Nasional), MOF (Ministry of Finance), linkage program collaborative universities and Syiah Kuala University from 13th to 17th of November, 2007. This mission team was divided into 3 groups and visited Japanese collaborative universities and lastly visited the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). Asia SEED coordinated the mission visiting sites and attended to the mission team.
At each visiting site, different opinion exchanges were made. These included opinion exchanges by students of the 1st linkage masters program on their experiences in Japan, linkage Ph.D program which is on the progress and educational support to Syiah Kuala University in Aceh, where they suffered damage from the earthquake that happened in Sumatra. Furthermore, at those universities where they have Indonesian students, they set up exchange sessions with students as well.
During this visit, expectations on the projects from both sides were expressed and issues or problems to solve were discussed as well. This was something very meaningful for mutual understanding between Indonesian universities and Japanese universities for the future project operation. |
